Because tile and porcelain are not electromagnetic conductors, we use the HVLP Painting Process to refinish these surfaces. Tile items that can be refinished include floor tiles, tile backsplashes, tile shower enclosures, etc. We also specialize in porcelain bathtub refinishing.
Whats Included
- We work on-site, so we start by masking the area we are working in and around. We also mask anything on the item itself that does not get painted.
- Next, we remove anything causing surface imperfections. This includes tape, glue, soap scum, etc. (We can fix exterior damage with bondo at an additional charge.)
- Following the masking and sanding process, all tile and porcelain items are thoroughly cleaned to remove any oils and dirt.
- After the surface is thoroughly cleaned, an etching primer is applied to allow for greater paint adhesion.
- When the item is ready to paint, the HVLP Process begins. When refinishing tile or porcelain items, five light coats of paint are applied. After the fifth light coat, a heavier coat is applied to make it shine.
- Tile and Porcelain refinishing will have a longer drying time, so the item should be left masked off. It is the owners responsibility to remove the tape and paper the following morning.
We use a Synthetic Porcelain paint to achieve a high gloss porcelain appearance. The paint is dry to touch in 8 hours, but we recommend a period of 24 hours to allow the paint to fully cure.
